PRACTICAL DETAILS
SOME THINGS
YOU MIGHT NEED
01
ARRIVAL & ENTRY
When can I go?
October to April. Exact dates depend on flights and local conditions; summer monsoon winds limit travel.
How do I get there?
Flights are limited and can change. Confirm your route and dates with us before booking onward connections, and allow time for delays.
Do you help with the visa?
Yes. Our local partners assist once your dates are agreed. You’ll need a passport scan, photo and personal details; requirements vary by nationality.
Are flights included?
No. Signature flights are quoted separately. We’ll confirm the latest fare and baggage allowance before booking.
02
CAMP LIFE
Where will we stay?
Six nights camping and one in a basic hotel. Tents and bedding are provided; showers, toilets, power and connectivity vary by location.
Can I shower every day?
Basic showers are available at some camps. Water is limited, so daily hot showers aren’t guaranteed.
Will I have internet?
Limited access may be available at selected camps, including Starlink where conditions allow. Don’t expect to stay connected throughout.
Can I charge my devices?
Basic charging is available in vehicles or at camp, with limited outlets and hours. Bring a power bank and spare camera batteries.
03
SAFETY & INSURANCE
What about safety?
Socotra is part of Yemen. UK and Australian advice is not to travel, including to Socotra. Read your government’s advice and consider limited medical support and possible flight disruption.
Do I need insurance?
Yes. Get written confirmation of cover for Yemen and Socotra, your activities, medical care, evacuation and trip disruption. Standard worldwide policies may exclude this trip.
What if my flight is cancelled?
We’ll coordinate with the airline, but can’t control when flights resume. Extra costs depend on airline rules, your booking terms and insurance.
